SENIOR FINANCIAL ASSOCIATE – Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Knowledge Services (DKS), incorporated in Singapore, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Deutsche Bank Group. This entity has operational activities in Manila and India through DKS (Manila) and DBOI, respectively.

DKS (Manila) was established in early 2005 as a branch of Singapore. It is registered with the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission as a regional operating headquarters, which owns and operates the firm’s captive shared service centre in the Philippines. DKS is owned and operated independently from Deutsche Bank’s domestic Philippines banking business.

The Service Centre is organized into three Divisions:
Service Delivery (SDD);
Service Excellence (SED); and,
Service Support.


The SDD houses all of the centers’ staff who provides services to internal Deutsche Bank clients around the globe. The division in Manila currently comprises five competency-based service delivery divisions:

Financial Accounting Services (FAS);
Market and Instrument Control Services (MICS);
Expense and Revenue Information Services (ERIS);
Information Systems Integrity Services (ISIS);and,
Applications Development and Support Services (ADSS).

SED is a key touchpoint for the service center’s clients. Relationship management, internal control compliance and process reengineering and change management functions sit within SED.

Service Support is responsible for the service centre support functions including finance, human resources, learning and development, facilities management, technology infrastructure and local governance.

Presently, DKS (Manila) has more than 1,200 employees, mostly CPAs and business and economics graduates, managed by a team of 18 Filipino executives. By the end of 2008, it is expected to reach a headcount of approximately 2,800, providing support for the Finance function globally.
The firm’s Philippine shared service facility is located at The Enterprise Center, a modern, twin tower office building, equipped with advanced office support utility systems. The service centre now occupies more than 6 floors, spanning close to 80,000 square feet.

Senior Financial Associate

Provide services to business-line CFOs, controllers and risk which include:

- Market/risk data set-up maintenance and cleansing
- T+1 balance sheet and risk verification
- Price, parameter and valuation testing
- Regulatory, risk and valuation calculations
- Production credit/client profitability MIS
- Production of PnL and risks for a range of trading desks
- Assist financial control team in month end reconciliation

Core skills / Qualifications:

-CPAs, CFAs, local and international certifications in risk management are a plus
-At least 6 years experience in banks, financial institutions or in relevant product / PnL controlling role
-Has in-depth knowledge in all facets of accounting / banking
-Experience or exposure in investment banking is a plus
-Knowledge or exposure in the following areas is an advantage:
- Financial capital markets
- Treasury operations
- Global banking
- Bloomberg / Reuters
-Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Mathematics, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Economics or equivalent.
- Required skill(s): communication skills, keen to details.
- Preferred skill(s): MS Excel, MS Access, SAP.
- At least 6 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Applicants must be willing to work in the Fort.
- Applicants should be Filipino citizens or hold relevant residence status.
- Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in Finance - Corporate Finance/Investment/Merchant Banking or equivalent.
