Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
Department: Accounting/Finance
Reports To: Country Manager
Job Status: Full Time

SUMMARY:

A financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and guiding businesses or individuals in order to assist the management in making good investment decisions. In order to do this, the financial analyst must gather financial information, analyze the information, and use that information to provide clients with recommendations. A financial analyst must also assess the performance of industries, companies, and firms in order to determine which ones would be good for investing in. In most cases, a financial analyst must read the financial statements of the company as well as the company’s expenses, sales, and costs in order to predict the future earnings of the company. In order to make an effective prediction, the financial analyst must also study the industry within which the company belongs in order to assess trends in the products and practices. The successful candidates will assist with special projects assigned by the Country Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  1. Other duties may be assigned.
  2. Serve as finance lead and prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and special financial reports as may deemed necessary for management review.
  3. Coordinate review of reports with affiliate management and external reviews.
  4. Research and analyze new and proposed accounting standards, and/or participate in the implementation of new accounting standards, including drafting management position and reviewing impact on external financial reporting and operational procedures reporting.
  5. Coordinate with external auditors to complete quarterly review and annual audit requirements.
  6. Prepare and consolidate the monthly financial results of the group’s business and assist in financial analysis.
  7. Assist with maintenance of policies and procedures for the group and ensure proper documentation of the process and controls.
  8. Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
  9. Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities at this time.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Working knowledge of Financial reporting requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of accounting for stock options preferred and statutory accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in PC based software/windows applications such as Microsoft Office products - Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal communication, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to convey simple to complex financial information to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to maintain and report on confidential information in an appropriate manner.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Group’s Company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of five to ten years of accounting/financial analysis experience with two plus years of SEC reporting and CPA.
  • Four to five years of management experience.
  • Must be able to, with reasonable accommodation: sit for extended periods of time; manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities; view and input data on PC for extended periods of time; have effective verbal and written communication skills; willing to travel both local and international.
